One strategy I like to use and share with others who find it hard to keep all the balls going at home and work and in life is called Intentional imbalance. This is a conscious and purposeful approach to prioritizing certain areas of life over others to achieve greater alignment, fulfillment, and well-being. Here are some of the places I have used "intentional imbalance" for managing busy seasons of life. Going back to school for a certification or degree Focusing on my health or personal goals Supporting my family with the birth of a new child or helping with the healthcare of other family Using it to meet financial goals by purposely finding additional jobs to increase finances Unexpected emergencies can require intentional imbalance at times. Major life transitions such a moving or job changes can be the perfect time to engage in this strategy. The key is recognizing that the imbalance is intentional and temporary, serving a specific purpose or goal. Regularly reassessing and adjusting is important to ensure that prolonged imbalance doesn't lead to burnout or neglect of other vital areas of life.
